Should her faith run dry, she'll just continue living as a human. This means she's essentially half human, half goddess. living god), meaning that, through faith, Sanae has actually ascended to godhood while still alive. As an aside, Sanae is actually an arahitogami (lit. She can also channel the powers of the two gods who live with her at the Moriya Shrine, which is situatied at the top of Youkai Mountain. Larger scale miracles take longer preparation to perform, with some even taking days. Sanae's primary power is the ability to create miracles, granted through her divine heritage as a descendant of Suwako Moriya, one of the two gods she worships (we'll go into Suwako when she appears).

Since she's a Shrine Maiden working for another Shrine, she's kind of rivals with Reimu Hakurei. She's also kind of a geek, as she makes pop culture references as a result of being somebody who comes from the Outside World (as in, she came to Gensokyo from outside the barrier). She sometimes struggles to think for herself and has a bad tendency to get carried away. Sanae herself is energetic, dutiful and cheery- sometimes to a fault. She also appears in Wild and Horned Hermit as a secondary character. She first appears as the Stage 5 Boss of Mountain of Faith and is a recurring character since, appearing as the EX-Midboss in Subterranean Animism, then becoming playable in Undefined Fantasic Object, Hisoutensoku, Ten Desires and Legacy in Lunatic Kingdom. Sanae Kochiya is one of our three starter puppets (the term 'Boneka' used in this hack is Korean for 'Puppet' or 'Doll', I think?).
